群馬県警察音楽隊は、昭和３３年８月に発足し、「おまわりさんのふれあいコンサート」といった定期演奏会のほか、地域安全運動や交通安全に伴う各種行事、防犯教室や交通安全教室等において、年間約６０日（令和元年度　実績）の演奏活動を行っております。

　隊員は、広報広聴課、交通企画課、交通機動隊のそれぞれに所属し、広報広聴課では、事件・事故等発生の際の広報業務、交通企画課では腹話術を使った交通安全講話等行い、交通機動隊では白バイやパトカーに乗務して交通指導取締り等を主に行っています。

　それらの通常業務の傍ら、コンサート演奏のほか、ドリル演奏を行い「県民と警察を結ぶ音のかけ橋」として県内各地をメロディーパトロールしています。

　現在コロナ情勢により音楽隊活動が大幅に減少しているところではありますが、少人数制による派遣、動画配信等による演奏等、工夫を凝らして隊員一同心を込めた演奏活動をしております。

群馬県警察音楽隊カラーガード

　群馬県警察音楽隊カラーガードは、昭和５３年３月に発足し、現在、会計年度任用職員で構成されています。

　カラーガード隊は様々なジャンルの音楽に合わせ、色鮮やかなフラッグを使った演技で群馬県警察音楽隊の演奏に華を添えており、県民の皆様から親しまれ好評をいただいております。

The Gunma Prefectural Police Band commenced in August 1958, and saw about 60 days of action in 2019. It participates in various events such as the regular "Omawari-san no Fureai Concert" (Police Officers' Friendship Concert); community and traffic safety campaign events; and crime prevention and traffic safety classes.

The band members work in the public relations and public hearing department, the traffic planning department or the traffic mobile unit. Respectively, each department or unit conducts publicity activities in cases of incidents and accidents; holds traffic safety lectures using puppets; and patrols the streets in police cars or on motorcycles and enforces traffic rules.

In addition to these normal duties, the band performs concerts and marching drills throughout the prefecture taking up the role of using "music as a bridge between police and the citizens of the prefecture."

Although activities have been drastically restricted due to the coronavirus pandemic, the members have been performing with their whole hearts, making use of their ingenuity by dispatching small units and broadcasting video performances.

Gunma Prefectural Police Band Color Guard

The Gunma Prefectural Police Color Guard was established in March 1978, and currently consists of police personnel. The color guard adds grace to the band's shows with their colorful flag performances and is popular among the residents of the prefecture.
