北海道警察音楽隊は、警察に対する道民の皆様のご理解とご協力をいただくため、１９５６年に発足しました。

　「犯罪や事故のない安心して暮らせる北海道の実現」のため、「道民と警察を結ぶ音の架け橋」として、道内各地において交通安全や防犯運動などの啓発活動をはじめ、各学校での音楽鑑賞会や福祉施設への訪問などの演奏活動を行っています。

　演奏はさまざまなジャンルの音楽から取り上げ、コンサートスタイルの演奏のほか、パレード演奏、ドリル演奏、曲に合わせた音楽劇などを行い、「皆様に愛される音楽隊」を目指し、より警察を身近に感じていただけるよう心がけています。

The Hokkaido Prefectural Police Band was formed in 1956 to promote understanding and cooperation for police activities among the people of the prefecture.

Focused on realizing a safe community without crimes or traffic accidents, the band aims to become a "bridge of music" between police and the citizens of Hokkaido. Not only does it perform throughout the prefecture to raise awareness of traffic safety and crime prevention, but it also plays music concerts at schools and visits welfare facilities.

The band performs a variety of music, and in addition to concerts, it takes part in parades, marching drills and stages musical performances. The group strives to become a band loved by all and hopes the public feels closer to the police.
