タイ国家警察音楽隊は、1950年に元警察長官ルアンチート タカコーソン大将により創設されました。当時は警察守備隊のマーチングラインを指揮するために作られたフルートのバンドでした。

　51年にはブラスバンドに発展し、翌年には当時の警察長官のパオスリヤーノン大将がブラスバンドを警察音楽隊へと発展させました。そして、指揮者であり指導者でもあるプラジェーン トゥリヤーノ（ピーターフィェット）を招聘して、音楽隊の充実をはかりました。57年にはタイ古典楽隊も創設されました。67年にはビッグバンドとバグパイプの楽団も編成されました。

　96年は、元警察長官のポット ブンャチンダー大将が、音楽隊に全面的な変革と改良を行った重要な年になりました。例えば、演奏内容、制服、楽器、音響設備などについて変革を行いました。また、後に室内オーケストラになっていく弦楽器だけの音楽隊も、この時期に確立しました。

　現在、タイ国家警察長官ジャックティプ チャイジンダー大将は、警察音楽隊を重要と考えており、下記のような国家的行事などの場で演奏できるように、ポップオーケストラへと発展させています。

The Royal Thai Police Band was founded in 1950, in the time of Police General Luangcharttrakalkosol, former Chief of the Police Department. At that time, a flute band was first formed in order to play to lead the marching line of the police guard unit.

In 1951, the band was developed into a brass band. In 1952, Pol. Gen. Phao Sriyanond, Chief of Police at that time, expanded the brass band into a military band. In addition, Phrajaeduriyang (Peter Feit) was invited to be the instructor and conductor of the band.

In 1957, the Thai Classical Band was established. In 1967, the Big Band and the Bagpipe Band were established. In 1996, Pol. Gen. Poj Boonyachinda, former Chief of Police at that time, had given importance and support to the police band by developing and improving on all aspects such as band personnel, instruments, audio equipment and others. Furthermore, the String Chamber Music group was also established, which later developed into the Chamber Orchestra.

Pol. Gen. Chakthip Chaijinda, former Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, supported the police band so much that it developed a Pop Orchestra, performing in major national events.
