「世界のお巡りさんコンサート」は、「安全・安心な街づくり」を目的に、世界各国の主要都市で数カ国の警察音楽隊を集めてコンサート事業を行う治安貢献・国際交流イベント企画として1996年に立ち上がりました。「世界中の警察音楽隊が、音楽を通じて言葉を超えたコミュニーケーションを図り、警察同士の友情の輪を広げる国際イベントとする」ことをコンセプトに、初回は米・英・仏・スペイン・韓国、豪州の６カ国の音楽隊を東京に招いて開催。以降、毎年１回、パリ、マドリード、ソウル、ベルリン、ニューヨーク、ロサンゼルス、ハノイ、ジャカルタ、ヤンゴン、バンコクなどで パレードやコンサートなどの交流演奏を実施し、各国警察音楽隊によるすばらしい競演で開催国の人々を魅了してきました。これまでに19カ国40の隊が参加し、友情の輪を広げてきました。

　2020年は新型コロナウイルス感染拡大防止の観点から中止となりましたが、2021、2022年度は日本国内において警視庁音楽隊によるコンサートに各国の警察音楽隊が演奏やメッセージの「動画」で出演する形の「特別編」として再開しました。

　2023年度は、「特別編 JAPAN SPECIAL」として、警視庁、埼玉県警察・千葉県警察・神奈川県警察の国内4警察音楽隊による生演奏のコンサートをお届けします。国内警察音楽隊4隊による競演にご期待ください。

The World Police Band Concert is an event which gathers police bands from large cities across the globe to promote international exchange, public safety, and the creation of safe communities.

The event connects police from different countries through music, a medium transcending different languages and cultures. Bands from the United States, Britain, France, Spain, South Korea, and Australia participated in the first concert held in Tokyo in 1996. From then on, police bands have gathered each year for collaborative performances in cities including Paris, Madrid, Seoul, Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, Hanoi, Jakarta, Yangon and Bangkok. Since the World Police Band Concert's inception, 40 bands from 19 countries have joined the event, strengthening bonds of friendship between police bands and delighting host communities around the world.

The 2020 edition was canceled due to the spread of COVID-19, but in 2021 and 2022 as a "Special Edition" in the form of concerts by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Band in Japan with "video" performances and messages by the police bands of each country.

In 2023, as a "Special Edition JAPAN SPECIAL," we will present a concert with live performances by four domestic police bands from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Saitama Prefectural Police, Chiba Prefectural Police, and Kanagawa Prefectural Police. Please look forward to a competitive performance by the four domestic police bands.
